League One play-offs prediction on Sunderland & Sheffield Wednesday as Bolton forecast given

There is little more than a month and a half left to go of the League One campaign and there is still much to be decided at both ends of the table.

The fight for which sides will make the play-offs as well as which sides can beat the drop to League Two are being closely fought and could go down to the final day.

It means an instense final furlong until the end of the season as clubs seek to achieve their goals.

The regular League One season draws to a conclusion at the end of April before the play-offs and the Wembley final take place in May.

Throughout the campaign, football statistics website FiveThirtyEight is forecasting how the League One table might finish after the results of every matchday, with the season reaching the climax of the regular season at the end of April before the play-offs start.

And the current top two of Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic are being tipped to achieve automatic promotion, as they have been the two front runners for much of the campaign.

The play-offs are predicted to include MK Dons, Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle, with Sunderland missing out on the top six.

Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth and Ipswich Town are all also tipped to miss out on the play-offs, as well as Bolton Wanderers who are predicted to end the season 11th after the weekend's loss to Plymouth.

At the foot of the table, Morecambe, Crewe Alexandra, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers remain the four sides tipped to be playing in League Two next season.
