A Nottinghamshire MP has addressed why leaflets sent to people in Broxtowe had someone else's name and signature. Darren Henry, MP for Broxtowe, said the mishap was down to an "administrative error".
A photo of the letter inviting people in Broxtowe to sign up for postal votes, which has been seen by Nottinghamshire Live, depicts the signature of Richard Jackson, followed by his name and position as "Member of Parliament for Broxtowe". This title however is currently owned by Darren Henry, who has served as an MP for Broxtowe since 2019.
And Richard Jackson is the leader of the Conservative opposition on Broxtowe Borough Council. But Mr Henry has addressed the situation in a statement for Nottinghamshire Live, adding: "Unfortunately, owing to an administrative error, an earlier draft copy of the leaflet was mistakenly released to the printers.

"I want to ensure that the people of Broxtowe know that I am, as their Member of Parliament, working as hard as possible to deliver on the people’s priorities, making lives better for everyone in the constituency.
"And Councillor Richard Jackson, as the Conservative Group Leader on Broxtowe Borough Council, is an excellent councillor who is working tirelessly to help individuals and families in Broxtowe. Our shared goal is to get our hard-working Conservative candidates elected to Broxtowe Borough Council this May.”
David Watts, a spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats, also addressed the issue, adding: “The Conservatives want people to trust them to run the council and they can’t even correctly identify their own MP.
"I’d say it was unbelievable but actually it won’t surprise anyone who has watched their behaviour in the council chamber over the past four years. They have made themselves an absolute laughing stock. It also doesn’t say much about the impact that Darren Henry has made as MP for the area that even his own party don’t seem to know who he is.”
Councillor Richard Jackson and the Broxtowe Conservatives Group have been approached for comment.
