Lea Michele's son rushed to hospital with 'scary health issue' as she says she wants to cry

Lea Michele has revealed her son Ever has been rushed back to hospital, two weeks after suffering a "scary health issue".

The actress, who starred as Rachel Berry in Glee, admitted she wanted to "break down and cry" as she updated fans on her two year old's condition.

Taking to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Lea shared a picture of Ever in his crib alongside an emotional caption.

"Today was a hard day. As parents we have to be strong for our kids," she wrote. "But sometimes you just want to break down and cry.

"Hidden in the bathroom or closet is usually best. today I chose hospital bathroom."

She continued: "These hard times show you truly what matters and is important in life and how much we have to be grateful for.

"It's been hard to say the least but our boy is such a champ and is going to be ok. But it still hurts."

Lea then shared a second picture on Thursday to say her son had returned home. Sharing a picture of herself hugging him, she wrote: "Ran to give my baby a hug at home in between shows.

"It was quick but worth it."

The Broadway star was forced to cancel some of her Funny Girl performances last month after Ever was hospitalised due to a "scary health issue".

"I'm so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of @FunnyGirlBwy today. We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for.

"I'm so sorry. Please send us some love and strength," she wrote at the time.

Lea returned to the show in late March, but revealed her son was still unwell.

Taking to Instagram at the time, she said: "Hi everyone. I'm saying a quick hello from my dressing room here. I'm back at Funny Girl tonight.

"I'm really happy to be back. It's been a really long week and we're still not out of the woods completely with our son, but he's headed in a good direction and we're really really grateful."

She also thanked fans for their messages of love and support.

"I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for just so much love and support this week. I really really appreciated it," she said.
