Law enforcement presence remains heavy outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach following an apparent assassination attempt. The road nearest the incident site has been closed for nine hours, with heavily trafficked roads around the golf club also shut down. Police vans have been seen coming in and out of the gates, indicating ongoing activity in the area.
At Summit Boulevard, near the golf club gate, there are bushes between the 5th and 6th hole that could have provided cover for someone to approach the fence. The individual detained in connection with the incident has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, according to multiple law enforcement sources. Reports suggest that Routh remained calm and showed no visible emotion during the apprehension.
Trump International Golf Club is situated adjacent to three major roads: Kirk Road, Summit Boulevard, and Congress Avenue. The proximity of the Palm Beach International Airport adds to the significance of the location in terms of security and accessibility.
