Law and District star's lost shoe doesn't stop cross country effort

Law and District Athletes didn’t let the conditions get the better of them at the National Cross Country Championships recently – even if it meant finishing without their spikes.

Muddy conditions at Calendar Park in Falkirk made for a challenging course, as some 2,230 athletes from across the country took part, but Law members still recorded some impressive displays.

And for under-20 runner Finn Milligan, his day was made all the more trickier when he was forced to complete the 6.8km distance minus a shoe after it got stuck in the mud.

Milligan managed to finish 58th overall in the end.

Law had a good turnout of athletes, all performing well throughout the long and muddy course, with some claiming top 10 finishes.

The results were as follows:

U13 girls - 3.2km: 51st Olivia Inglis, 101st Hannah Jamieson; 107th Sophie Nelson

U13 boys - 3.2km: 15th John Frood

U15 girls - 4.3km: 8th Jessica Inglis; 71st Alayna McCann

U15 boys - 4.3km: 19th Ryan Kellock, 112th Daniel Simpson

U17 women - 6.2km: 39th Yuki Faulds, 51st Ayumi Faulds
