Lauryn Taylor broke a women’s hoops NCAA record that the entire country should be talking about

Everybody is rightfully talking about Caitlin Clark’s NCAA record, but on Thursday, another NCAA record was broken that will blow your mind. Division II women’s basketball center Lauryn Taylor posted one of the wildest box scores ever: 34 points and 44 REBOUNDS. That is not a typo.

While nearly the entire sports world was swooning over Caitlin Clark (rightfully so — the girl is otherworldly), Lauryn Taylor was putting up one of the wonkiest stat lines you’ll ever see. Taylor, a center at Francis Marion, dropped a career-high 34 points during a win against North Greenville. But that isn’t what has people talking.

Lauryn also broke the NCAA record FOR ALL DIVISIONS when she snagged an unbelievable 44 rebounds. YES, FORTY-FOUR REBOUNDS IN 26 MINUTES. After the game, Taylor shared her thoughts with the local media, saying, “I have a natural knack for the ball. I prefer rebounding over scoring anyway. So, I know what I like to do: having fun.”

Incredible.
