Lauren Goodger has opened up about her mixed emotions ahead of her daughter Larose’s first birthday, in the wake of the tragic death of her newborn baby.
The former TOWIE star, 35, revealed the heartbreaking news that her second daughter, Lorena, died shortly after being born two weeks ago.
Taking to her Instagram Stories in the run-up to her daughter’s birthday, Lauren reposted the touching black and white photo of her baby Lorena's hand touching hers, which she posted to announce the newborn’s death.
Opening up about the birthday preparations, Lauren wrote: “Just wrapped @BABYLAROSE presents and my Lorena was with me in my heart the whole time with her candle lit.
“Very emotional evening for Mummy, but can't wait to see my big girl in the morning.”
The brave mother then shared snaps as she was busy decorating her home with balloons for the big day.
Lauren panned the camera around her living room showing off the inflatables that spelt her daughter's name as well as a large pile of gifts wrapped in pink paper.
She gushed: “Can't wait to arrange all theses [balloon letters] in the morning [and spell] Larose.”
Lauren and Charles, who are parents to one-year-old daughter Larose, announced they were expecting their second child in January this year.
Lauren said in her statement following Lorena’s tragic death: "Words can’t describe as a mother losing your baby that I carried for all these months perfectly and gave birth too for my angel to be taken from me.
"There was no pregnancy or labour complications and she was fine & healthy but I am not going into detail right now just know that there was nothing wrong with her or myself she was perfect I can’t understand it she is so so beautiful Larose twin so similar."
She continued: "I am broken. I am back home from hospital Me & Charlie spent as much time with our baby girl Lorena and I haven’t said my goodbye yet."
Later on in the post, she added: "I will never ever get over this but I will learn how to live everyday with Lorena in my heart she will be with me always and I will be with her again one day … My [angel emoji] Lorena I love you so much."
Lauren's partner Charles Drury was quick to comment on the post and wrote: "She will always be with us," alongside several heart emojis.
