Laura Woods TV presenter: Her big new job, famous rugby ex and X-rated put downs

Popular British presenter Laura Woods is set to leave her role on talkSPORT's breakfast show by the end of June.

Woods has led the 6am-10am talk show for the past three years and picked up several awards along the way, including the coveted ARIAS Best Speech Breakfast Show. As well as the SJA Sports Presenter of the Year on two occasions.

Her last show for the broadcaster will be on Wednesday, June 26th. It's been reported that she will be joining up with BT Sport's rebrand 'TNT Sports' following the departure of Jake Humphrey. The Arsenal supporter even joked that she would miss Spurs fans.

"You lot, our listeners, have given me so much comfort and guided me through some of my toughest moments, without even realising it. So I wanted to thank you personally for that. I will miss it dearly. Even the Spurs fans.

"For what feels like a lifetime I've been a listener of talkSPORT. For the last six years it's been my home, where we get to spend our mornings talking about sport. There's nothing better. I know I will never find a job like this. It's unique.

"Three years as the host of this amazing breakfast show, three bits of silverware for the trophy cabinet and record listening figures. I'm very proud of what we achieved here. One thing's for sure: I will always be part of this family at talkSPORT."

She has asserted herself as an elite-level sports media presenter, having worked for the likes of Sky Sports, Amazon Prime, ITV and DAZN.

Laura Woods' rugby ex

Woods is also the ex-girlfriend of former England prop Alex Corbisiero, who featured in two Lions Tests during the 2013 winning tour of Australia. The couple were together for eight years before splitting up.

Woods explained that it was her decision, and was down to the pair "living in each other's pockets".

The former Premiership champion was diagnosed with testicular cancer back in 2019, and after a long battle with the disease, the former England man revealed he was two years cancer-free in a statement made on social media last year.

The former Red Roses man is now scrum coach at San Diego Legion, and also works in rugby media Stateside.

Savage put-downs

Woods is also known for her no-filter, savage put-downs to sexist and rude trolls on social media.

Back in December 2022, one person commented on her post saying: "Get back to the kitchen", to which Woods responded by saying: "Ohhh Mick. Nothing screams 'I have a small penis' more than this old phrase. X".
