Broadcaster Laura Woods playfully warned pal Ally McCoist not to pull any more stunts on her after he denied Rangers were dumped out of the Scottish Cup.
The Ibrox icon claimed he was unaware Celtic had outlasted their fierce foes at the national stadium – despite the 60-year-old providing commentary from Hampden. Woods apologised after querying if the match had happened and even joked she might have been watching an re-run. However, McCoist's ploy to wipe the memory of Rangers' defeat proved a task too tall as one listener set Woods right and she put her on-air colleague on the spot.
Speaking on talkSPORT, she said: "By the way, I'm not going mad, Rangers vs Celtic yesterday, Scottish Cup semi final. Why did I just say it, and you were like no? Because you lost? Ally, don't do that to me, I thought I was going mad." And a sheepish McCoist admitted: "Of course it was, did you think I was going to talk about it? I didn't fancy talking about it, that's why."
