Laura Woods puts Tottenham fan in his place with savage response to "cringe" Arsenal dig

Laura Woods failed to hold her laughter when a Tottenham fan claimed Arsenal were the "luckiest club" in the Premier League after Saturday's remarkable game at the Emirates.

The Gunners recovered from two goals down to secure a famous 3-2 win against Bournemouth. Reiss Nelson's last-minute strike snatched the victory for Mikel Arteta's side to ensure they remain five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.

Spurs supporter Dan was stunned by Nelson's late winner and called Woods' talkSPORT breakfast show on Monday morning to make his feelings known. Woods is an Arsenal fan and showed no mercy when dismantling Dan's tenuous theory.

The hilarious row started when Dan asked Woods and Ally McCoist, "Do you know how cringe it is to listen to you lot [Arsenal fans], right? Bournemouth have form in this [collapsing]. We were 2-0 down to Bournemouth earlier on in the season and came back.

"You lot are the most cringeworthy, desperate, try-hard fanbase I've ever heard in my life."

As Woods and McCoist laughed, Dan added, "You are the luckiest club I have ever, ever come across in my life. You scored in the eighth minute [seventh] of the six minutes added on, and you celebrate like a kid who's just been given a pack of Percy Pigs [sweets]."

After allowing Dan to get his point across, Woods went for the jugular. The talkSPORT presenter replied, "Dan, do you know what I heard there? What I heard in your wonderful rant? I heard, 'Waa, waa, waa, waa!'

"I heard, 'Oh God, we lost 1-0 to Wolves at the weekend. What's the best thing I can do on a Monday morning? I can call up talkSPORT and cry about how much Arsenal are having a great season'.

"And [I heard], 'We hate our manager [Antonio Conte], our manager is a born winner!' But guess what - he can't even get Spurs to win! What's happening Dan? Don't worry about Arsenal, worry about yourselves!"

Dan then claimed "it's not about Spurs, it's about Arsenal" - to which Woods quipped, "You're right, it's about Arsenal - top of the league Arsenal! Where are Spurs at the moment? How much do you think you're going to hang on to fourth place, Dan?

Tottenham are just three points ahead of Liverpool - who hammered Manchester United 7-0 on Sunday - in fifth. "I think we will," said Dan before urging Woods to change the subject to Liverpool's win. Yet the talkSPORT presenter was having none of it.

Woods told Dan, "Don't worry, we're also going to spend a bit of time talking about Spurs as well. Jamie O'Hara's coming on - your team legend! He's coming on at 8:30am, so I bet you'll be tuned in for that."

Dan then claimed that "every little thing is falling your way" because Arsenal's only major injury was Gabriel Jesus. Woods, in disbelief, replied, "Apart from Jesus! Our top goalscorer! Hang on a minute, what? And [Thomas] Partey! One of our most important players!"

Dan responded by trying to make more excuses, which prompted Woods to ask if he was talkSPORT presenter and Arsenal sceptic Adrian Durham in disguise. "Brilliant, you sound like Adrian Durham," noted Woods. "Is this Adrian Durham? I've just got to check?"

Woods then finished the row by highlighting Richarlison's lack of goals in the Premier League. She said, "How's your luck? Signing Richarlison and he hasn't even scored yet... Dan it's been lovely speaking to you this morning, enjoy the rest of your miserable season!"
