Laura Woods jokes that Drake should start supporting Tottenham as Arsenal break 'curse'

Laura Woods has told Drake that he should 'take his interest elsewhere', joking with the rapper that he should start supporting Tottenham after Arsenal broke the 'curse' with their win against Leeds on Sunday.

Drake placed a bet on Barcelona and Arsenal to win on Sunday, with the Catalan club losing to arch-rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico after he made a bet. The match was also the first time that his logo was worn on the Barca shirts to celebrate earning 50 billion streams on the Spotify platform, who are Barca's main sponsor.

The curse emerged after multiple instances of the musician having pictures with stars or placing bets which proved to be bad omens. He had a photo taken with Sergio Aguero in 2019 before Man City's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Spurs and also posed with Anthony Joshua before he lost to Andy Ruiz in the same year.

The bet was placed and could have quite easily proved to be a bad omen for the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta's side struggling against Leeds and scraping a 1-0 win at Elland road. Drake, whose full name is Aubrey Graham, also placed a bet on Charles Leclerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix earlier this year before the F1 star retired with an engine failure earlier this year.

This has prompted the TalkSport breakfast presenter Woods to urge the star to avoid putting bets on her club, Arsenal, and turn his attention to rivals Spurs instead, she joked: "Drake, you're a brilliant artist and a brilliant performer. I've seen him at the O2, actually, he was wonderful, but take that shirt off and put a Spurs shirt on!

"Take your interest elsewhere, Drake! We don't need your support, we don't need your curse! Go and write some more music and go and do a little sing-song with your mates, alright?

"Stay away from the Premier League unless you want to start supporting teams like Spurs or Man City." She demanded. "Is that clear enough?

"In so many words, get away from this football club!"
