Laura Whitmore speaks out on Cheryl replacing her in London's 2:22 A Ghost Story

Laura Whitmore has reached out to Cheryl to send a message of support, after it was announced that the Geordie star is replacing the former Love island presenter in acclaimed London show 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Not long after she confirmed that she was stepping down from hosting duties on the ITV2 dating show, Laura, who has previously toured the UK in dark thriller Not Dead Enough, was revealed to be joining the Ghost Story cast at the Criterion Theatre in the capital. Ahead of her opening night Laura admitted she was a mix of both nerves and excitement and has seen been earning great reviews as she appears in the show alongside Busted star and former I'm A Celebrity winner Matt Willis.

Others stars like Lily Allen and Giovanna Fletcher have treaded the boards in 2:22 A Ghost Story, since its West End opening last year and on Wednesday, Girls Aloud member turned solo chart-topper Cheryl delighted her legions of fans, when she took to Instagram to share the news that she'd be taking over from Laura in the role of Jenny.
