Laura Whitmore shared a cryptic message ahead of quitting as host of Love Island. The TV presenter announced that she was stepping down after three series of the ITV2 dating show, saying 'there are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult.'
Mum-of-one Laura, 37, who welcomed a daughter last year with her Love Island narrator husband Iain Stirling, cited 'flying back and forth to South Africa' along with 'new conflicting projects' as the reasons behind her decision.
The Irish broadcaster took over hosting duties on the first winter edition of the popular show from her friend Caroline Flack in January 2020. The popular show, set in Mallorca during the summer, will return to Cape Town for a second winter series in 2023.

Laura shared a sweet message to her friend Caroline, who tragically took her own life in February 2020 aged 40, as she posted on her Instagram on Monday night. "Some news!" she declared. "I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island.
"There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects."
She continued: "I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline."
Ahead of the news she took to Instagram Stories to share a photo of a colourful poster with the words "It's not success if it costs you your mental health." And today she shared a picture of her book No One Can Change Your Life Except For You with the pages fluttering in the breeze.
On Sunday Laura, who started out as a video jockey for MTV, was on top form as she went to see Coldplay a t Wembley Stadium with her hubby. "Wow thank you @coldplay for a beautiful night. First band I ever interviewed for telly was Coldplay. Seen them many times live but @iaindoesjokes first last night.
"A real special moment sharing that joy with 90000 other people in one space. The guys said they weren’t going to tour until they could put on a fully carbon neutral show. And that’s what they did! Never dull your sparkle and love each day true to yourself. Excellent motto to live by!"
