Laura Whitmore has landed an incredible acting role in a stellar West End stage play just one week after the 2022 Love Island finale.
The ITV2 host, 37, took to Instagram on Thursday to share her exciting career announcement after she called it quits on her radio presenting career last month.
In an exciting post, the Irish TV presenter penned: "News!!! I'm joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story from September 6th!
"Come see me on stage making my West End debut in this critically-acclaimed psychological thriller."
Laura, who is set to play Jenny in the incredible stage play, has been a long-time fan of the thriller, and admitted that it feels surreal to be a part of the much-talked about West End production.
"I'm so excited to be making my West End debut playing Jenny in the next production of 2:22," she added.
"Theatre has always been my first love and I can't wait to get back on stage. I am a huge fan of the previous productions and delighted to be getting stuck in with rehearsals and working alongside such a hugely talented cast and team."
Following her exciting announcement, Laura's famous pals flocked to the comments to shower her with love and congratulations.
Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt commented: "Omg omg AMAZING."
Clara Amfo added: "Fab", while former Celebs Go Dating star Talia Storm penned: "Congratulations."
Former Love Island star Amy Hart also gushed: "Love this show. I'll be there."
Strictly star Oti Mabuse also rushed to congratulate the Love Island host as she wrote: "Let's go Laura! So proud honey."
Laura's West End announcement comes just three weeks after she pulled the plug on her radio presenting career.
The star had been presenting her own show BBC Radio 5 Live for four years, but decided it was time to focus on other areas of her career - with acting and more TV presenting being a priority.
The current series of Love Island came to an end last week and Laura has decided not to return to radio.
She has become a household name since taking on the Love Island hosting duties from Caroline Flack in 2020.
Confirming her departure from Auntie Beeb, Heidi Dawson - controller of BBC Radio 5 Live - told MailOnline: "Laura has made the difficult decision to leave after a brilliant four years.
Heidi went on to pay tribute to Laura's work, saying: "We'd like to thank her for the energy, insight and humour she has brought to this programme and look forward to working with her again in the near future."
A source told The Sun that Laura was looking to "exploit" her growing fame and the possibilities that opens up.
The TV insider said: "Love Island has given her huge exposure and a healthy pay packet, and she's now going to exploit that to the max.
"Laura has already hinted she has other projects in the pipeline and she can't find the time to continue with all her roles."
With this in mind, Laura felt she had to make a choice, according to the source, who continued: "So something had to go, and it's sad for listeners that this is what's been jettisoned as she moves onwards and upwards."
Laura, who is married to Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, with whom she has a daughter with, was reportedly paid £600,000 for hosting the ITV2 dating show this year.
She also hosted Love Island spin off show, Aftersun, which aired live every Sunday night throughout the series.
