Laura Anderson has asked her fans to 'be kind' to real people saying that Love Island isn't a 'normal dating show'.
The former Islander has taken to social media today (Wednesday) to remind people that the highly popular ITV2 programme is for entertainment, hence all the drama.
Laura's post on Instagram to her 1.5M followers comes after current contestant Tom Clare suffered huge backlash on Twitter during last night's episode.
Many viewers are unhappy, accusing him of being 'dangerous' with some saying that he has no respect for women after he secretly kissed Ellie Spence on Monday, despite saying he wanted to pursue things with Olivia Hawkins.
In scenes which aired last night, Olivia was told about the kiss and confronted him, but he showed 'no remorse' following his behaviour. And during an argument with Zara following the news of the kiss spreading, Tom was left visibly angry after his former love interest shouted she hoped his family were "proud of him" for his behaviour.
It's prompted Tom's sister to break her silence about the matter on online. In a post she wrote: "We are always more than proud of you."
Laura then shared the post on her Instagram story and said: "Let's all be kind to real people, real lives, real emotions and real families.
"Love Island isn't your normal dating set up hence the drama and emotions running high for our entertainment so let's keep that in mind, give these guys a break once in a while and just support our faves because tomorrow it all changes anyway let's be honest. Only love."
Reacting to last night's installment, someone tweeted: "Tom is such a dangerous man, his eyes say it all, he just looks right through the girls #loveisland"
Another said: "This lad Tom is worth the watching, he's nothing but a heart breaker and is showing no remorse for his actions this week #loveisland!
While a third wrote: "Olivia needs to get away from Tom, he is going to destroy her, and not in a good way #loveisland"
Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
