There's just a few weeks to go until the anticipated launch of Apple's newest iPhone. It's thought that the iPhone 14 could hit UK shelves as soon as mid September, as more rumours start to swell around its look and new software update.

Apple's official launch of the new handset is predicted to be just two weeks away on Wednesday September 7, although there has been no official word from the tech giants themselves. It is a date many tech experts believe to be the global launch, including AppleTrack who observe and share industry tech trends.

With the anticipated launch just weeks away we've put together a guide on everything you may need to know about the iPhone 14.

How much will it cost?

Looking at the cost of last years iPhone 13 its expected that the price of the newest handset will be around £1,000.

The 128GB iPhone 13 retailed for £825, with the more advance Pro version costing users £900. Over the last year the price increase is estimated to be around £100, meaning the standard iPhone 14 will be even more expensive than last years iPhone 13 Pro. THe rumoured starting price for the iPhone 14 is £999 and over £1,000 for the Iphone 14 Pro (that's if there is one).

Where can I buy the latest iPhone?

Apart from the obvious Apple store there are also a handful of UK retailers that stock the latest Apple products, network providers are likely to release new contracts for the iPhone 14, meaning you could spread the cost of it with your data plan. The following retailers stock the latest iPhone 13:

iOS 16 software

The newest iOS16 update was previewed by Apple in June this year and a number of updates are coming our way. It's also expected to be a key part of the new handset, with significant changes to messaging, the lock screen and updates to a range of Apple's apps.

iOS 16 introduces a customizable lock screen with where notifications will be pushed from the bottom of the screen instead of down from the top, in an aim to be less distracting. Messaging will also be updated, users will be able to delete messages but also set as read or unread.

And in a controversial move Apple will introuduce a new feature to it Apple Pay which gives the chance for users to pay at a later date with 'Apple Pay later' which can be applied to in-app purchases.

To know the exact date of the release keep a close eye on Apple's communications, which you can sign up to on their website or sign up to newsletters.
