Here is our latest round-up of appointments and promotions at some of the biggest firms in the East Midlands:

Rolls-Royce

Derby’s Rolls-Royce has announced changes to its board and executive team as part of a transformation programme announced by chief executive Tufan Erginbilgic last month.

Helen McCabe (pictured) joins the board of the engineering giant as chief financial officer later this year. She has 25 years of experience in finance and performance management and is currently senior vice president of finance for the customer & products division of BP. Panos Kakoullis will remain as CFO until at least August 31.

Rob Watson, who joined the executive team as president of Rolls-Royce Electrical last year, has been named president of Civil Aerospace with immediate effect.

Chris Cholerton, as previously announced, will be moving from president of Civil Aerospace to group president, where he will take on executive responsibility for the group’s nuclear operations.

Adam Riddle has been named president of Defence and chairman and CEO of Rolls-Royce America with immediate effect.

Rowleys

Leicester-based accountants Rowleys has appointed tax specialist Rebecca Scotton as senior tax manager.

She joins Rowleys from a London-based firm where she worked as an international tax adviser to private clients leaving the UK. She began her tax career at KPMG in Birmingham, before relocating to London in 2012.

During her time in London, she worked for a range of large and small practices, gaining a breadth of experience advising private clients and businesses.

She relocated to Leicester in October 2019, where she continued to work remotely for her previous firm, and has recently returned from a career break where she spent time working with two charities and undertaking a financial coaching course, accredited by The London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Rowleys partner and head of tax Mark Hook said: “When we started talking to Rebecca in January, we knew straight away that Rebecca’s enthusiasm would fit the culture of the firm.”

PermaRock

Loughborough external wall insulation specialist PermaRock has appointed two new board directors.

Longstanding employees Nigel Watson and Kieran Loftus join the board bringing a combined three decades of experience as the company looks to double its turnover to £12 million this year.

Nigel Watson becomes operations director following a quarter century with the business, and having has held several key operational roles.

Kieran Loftus becomes logistics director, having originally joined the business more than 15 years ago.

Managing director Sean Waldrum said: “They both bring incredible strengths that help us improve and expand our services and develop our systems even further.”

Wilkin Chapman

Katherine Marshall has been promoted to partner to head up a new team offering dispute resolution and will dispute expertise to clients across the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The newly formed team, based in Wilkin Chapman’s new offices at Oxley House in Louth, represents the first time the firm has offered these services in the Wolds area.

Wilkin Chapman is the largest law firm in the Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire region and Ms Marshall becomes a partner four years after joining.

She said: “There’s a team of three of us at the moment here in the Wolds, and we’ve only been working together for four months. It’s already working really well and we’re a very close knit unit.

“I’m looking forward to growing the team, growing the will disputes offering and having a permanent dispute resolution presence in the Wolds to help those in the local area.”

200 Degrees

East Midlands-based coffee roaster 200 Degrees Coffee has made its second senior promotion of 2023, with Nicki Jones becoming financial director.

After joining 200 Degrees last year as financial controller, Nicki takes on the financial director position from Stephen Fern – who was promoted to managing director earlier this year.

With 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, Nicki will help to implement and oversee 200 Degrees’ growth strategy and is the first female director at the company.

Both promotions follow a continued period of expansion for 200 Degrees and come as it prepares to open its 19th coffee shop, and eighth barista school, in Chester this spring.

Nicki said: “200 Degrees is an impressive company that I’m proud to be a part of and the teams across our head office and coffee shops are the best in the business.”

Rob Darby and Tom Vincent founded 200 Degrees in 2012, after setting up its roastery in Nottingham. Since then, they have expanded its footprint across England and Wales.
