Latest snapshot of coronavirus impact

A total of 12,041,601 people in Australia have received more than two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. (AAP)

AUSTRALIAN VACCINATION NUMBERS:

* There have been 54,841,157 vaccine doses administered in the national COVID-19 rollout up to Wednesday, including 91,390 recorded in the previous 24 hours.

* Of that total, 34,548,823 have been administered by commonwealth facilities, an increase of 71,640 in the previous 24 hours.

* State and territory facilities have administered 20,292,334 vaccines, an increase of 19,750 in the previous 24 hours.

* 96.5 per cent of people aged 16 and over have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 94.68 per cent are double vaccinated.

* A total of 12,041,601 people have received more than two doses - with a booster or top-up shot - an increase of 56,305 in the previous 24 hours.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* 38,077 new cases: 16,288 in NSW, 7779 in Victoria, 4571 in Queensland, 4535 in Western Australia, 2590 in South Australia, 1167 in Tasmania, 821 in the ACT and 326 in the Northern Territory.

* The national death toll is 5498 (+22): Victoria 2617 (+8), NSW 1961 (+4), Queensland 614 (+5), South Australia 197 (+4), ACT 34, NT 31 (+1), Tasmania 26, and WA 11. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).

GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 451,590,421

* Deaths: at least 6,022,047

* Vaccine doses administered: 10,634,547,944
