Latest Qatar World Cup 2022 outright odds including England's chances of success

The stage is set and the 2022 World Cup is just days away as some of football's elite make the journey to Qatar to have a chance to make history on the international football stage. Holders France will be looking to put forward a solid defence though the last time that happened, they crashed out of the group stages in 2002.

South American giants Brazil and Argentina are tipped as the early favourites with Betfred as they look to bring the trophy back to the continent for the first time in 20 years. Meanwhile, the likes of England and Spain will be looking to secure top spots in both their groups in order to get into the best position possible for the knockout stage.

Harry Kane and co will be looking to make their mark in their group opener against Iran - priced at 500/1 - before facing USA and Wales in their Group B campaign.

Here are the odds of every single nation's chances of lifting the FIFA World Cup Trophy:

Brazil - 4/1

The Seleção are tipped as the outright favourites at 4/1 with Betfred as Tite prepares for his second World Cup campaign as Brazil boss. The former Corinthians head coach will be looking on the likes of Alisson, Thiago Silva, Casemiro and Neymar to form a solid spine as they look to reach their first final since 2002.

Brazil finished qualifying at the top of the CONMEBOL table undefeated, six points ahead of arch-rivals Argentina and scoring an impressive 40 goals - 13 more than the next best.

Argentina - 11/2

Like Brazil, Argentina finished undefeated but many of the fans will be looking to go one-up on their arch-rivals especially after the drama on matchday six in the World Cup qualifiers.

Finishing behind their arch-rivals would have hurt the Argentine faithful and with the added drama of Brazilian health officials demanding four of their players isolate immediately just five minutes into their qualifier in Brazil, it will certainly add tension to the pile.

This will be the last dance for Lionel Messi as it is unlikely for the most decorated Balon d'Or winner to be playing at 39 come the 2026 World Cup so this could well be the perfect curtain call for the PSG man. They are 11/2 to lift the trophy for the first time since 1986.

France - 7/1

The holders after Didier Deschamps guided his side to glory in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They finished their qualifying campaign undefeated and conceded just three goals in eight matches as Les Bleus look to become the first European nation to win back-to-back World Cups since Italy in 1938.

Deschamps is clearly going for an attacking approach having selected eight attackers including the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud. They are 7/1 to hold on to the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

England - 9/1

It is now 56 years since England's first and only World Cup triumph but the Euro 2020 finalists will be feeling hopeful going into this match despite criticisms towards Gareth Southgate in recent months. A Nations League campaign to forget since their European Championship heartbreak has led to some fans questioning Southgate's team tactics but the former Middlesbrough boss has a very good record in international tournament football.

The Three Lions finished undefeated in their World Cup qualifying campaign scoring an impressive 39 goals - more than any other qualifying campaign in their history. They are 9/1 to make history in Qatar.

Spain - 9/1

A young squad with a World Cup-winning captain and a manager with a proven record could well see Spain make a case of being one of the best footballing nation's once again. To add to that, we can see Luis Enrique provide regular insight to the World Cup campaign after he launched his very own Twitch channel - yes, really!

Sergio Busquets will be looking to lead Spain to success in Qatar while young talents such as Gavi, Pedri and Ansu Fati look to make a stamp on the main stage. They are 9/1 to win.
