Sean Dyche is favourite to become Everton’s next manager after the club sacked Frank Lampard.
The Toffees sit 19th in the Premier League, off the bottom only on goal difference, after Saturday’s defeat to West Ham in what was a huge match for both sides.
That has cost Lampard his job, with Everton’s 15 points from their opening 20 League matches the worst start to a season in the club’s history
The latest odds have Dyche at the top of the market - the Englishman has been out of management since he was sacked by Burnley, after a decade in charge, last April.
Duncan Ferguson is also in the running, having had two spells as caretaker manager following the dismissals of Marco Silva and Rafael Benitez. He left the Everton coaching staff in the summer to pursue his ambitions of being a manager.
Marcelo Bielsa is third-favourite, 11 months after he was sacked by Leeds, while DC United boss Wayne Rooney is linked with a return to Goodison Park.
Rooney revealed last year that he turned down the opportunity to be interviewed for the Everton job while in charge at Derby, believing he wasn’t ready, but in an interview in November confirmed his desire to one day lead the club.
“Obviously Everton and Manchester United are the two clubs who are really close to my heart so to manage one of them two would be a dream,” he told CNN.
“I’m still gaining a lot of experience from what I’m doing. You want to learn, and I want to go into Everton or Manchester United, I want to go in there and be able to give the best version of me.”
David Moyes is 10/1 to take charge of Everton for a second time, though he bought himself some more time in the West Ham dugout with the recent victory over the Toffees.
