Latest Netflix Harry and Meghan trailer 'claims war' against the duchess with media and palace under fire again

The latest Harry and Meghan trailer has dropped with media coverage and the Palace coming under fire again. The first three episodes of the Sussexes six-part docu-series streamed last week to mixed reviews.

In the Netflix trailer, which the streaming giant posted to Twitter today (December 14), the voices of three people are heard in interviews. Following shots of Meghan and an aerial view of Buckingham Palace, Jenny Afia, who is subtitled as 'partner Schillings Law Firm (London)', says: "There was a real kind of war against Meghan and I've certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the Palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other peoples' agendas."

Next up to speak is friend, Lucy Fraser. Seated in an armchair with the background blurred, she says: "Meg became this scapegoat for the Palace and so they would feed stories on her whether they were true or not, to avoid less favourable stories being printed."

In the first three episodes of the show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke about their treatment within the royal family. Claims were made by Harry that the royals asked why Meghan should be 'protected' from media speculation, and later cited 'unconscious bias' of racism at the heart of the institution. There were also claims by Meghan that William and Kate were emotionless at their first meeting and that she was left unprepared for royal life.

The first trailer promoting the second volume of the series has already made claims that 'lies' were told to protect William. In it, the duchess says: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.” Harry adds: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother (William). They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.” It is unclear who the duke is referring to when he says 'they'.

In the second trailer, Meghan explains further. Punctuated with images of front pages, she says: "You would see it play out. Like a story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute, and they'd go 'we gotta make that go away'."

Ending the just over a minute trailer is Jenny Afla. She adds: "This barrage of negative articles about the breakdown of the relationship with her father was the final straw in a campaign of negative, nasty coverage about her."

Vol II of the six-part docu-series streams tomorrow.
