Latest Man United injury news as three miss Chelsea amid Marcus Rashford boost

Chelsea travel to Old Trafford later today looking to hand Manchester United a serious blow to their top four hopes.

Erik ten Hag's men are currently three points above Liverpool with a game-in-hand, but have a vastly inferior goal difference. Victory over the Blues will secure their place in next season's Champions League ahead of the weekend's final day fixtures.

Third-place is also up for grabs, with Newcastle failing to beat Leicester City on Monday meaning they can overtake Eddie Howe's side.

Ahead of the visit of Frank Lampard's men, Ten Hag provided an update on the latest injury news of his squad. Player of the season Marcus Rashford is expected to return to the squad after missing the last two games.

He missed the 2-0 win over Wolves due to a leg injury before being absent in last weekend's victory at Bournemouth due to illness. He has returned to training and looks set to feature against Chelsea.

"It looks like (he will be available), but yesterday he returns in training and he looks quite fit but we have to see today what the outcome is from the training - how did he recover and then we will make our choices," Ten Hag said. "If you are not available, you can't score.

"When he was available we played better, the team is winning games, he's also scoring goals but he has to be available." Rashford's return to fitness, as well as Scott McTominay's recovery from injury, has given Ten Hag a boost.

United's only other injuries are the long-term absences of Lisandro Martinez, Marcel Sabitzer and Donny van de Beek who are out for the rest of the season. "It's clear, we want to win every game," Ten Hag added.

"That is what we do all season so tomorrow we want to do the same, we want to win the game, play dominant football and get the job done..."
