Latest injury update on Rob Havenstein is good news for the Rams

It’s been a difficult season injury-wise for the usually durable Rob Havenstein. He missed six games in the regular season, the most since he missed seven games in 2019.

Havenstein suffered a shoulder injury in practice leading up to Week 17 and has been out ever since, but there is good news on the horizon for the Rams’ right tackle.

Sean McVay told reporters Monday that the expectation is Havenstein will be ready for the start of the playoffs next week. He’ll be back at right tackle for the Rams’ postseason opener against the Vikings next Monday in the wild-card round, barring a setback in the week leading up to the game.

Havenstein’s 78.3 run-blocking grade is the second-highest on the team, according to Pro Football Focus, and he’s allowed just 20 pressures in 361 pass-blocking snaps this year.

He’s not only an integral part of the offensive line, but he’s also a leader in the locker room as the longest-tenured player on the team. The Rams will need him for their playoff run and it’s encouraging to hear he’s expected to be ready for the start of it.
