Latest Arsenal injury news as four could miss Leeds United amid Saliba and Tomiyasu wait

Arsenal will enter the final two months of the season eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table after they recorded a huge win over managerless Crystal Palace.

Bukayo Saka scored his 11th and 12th league goals of the season with strikes either side of half-time. Gabriel Martinelli and Granit Xhaka were also on the scoresheet as Mikel Arteta's men extended their lead over Manchester City.

There are now only ten games between the north Londoners winning their first league title in 19 years. Some of Arteta's squad will now represent their national teams for two weeks, hoping to return to London Colney injury-free.

Arsenal are currently faced with a number of injury concerns after a hectic March saw them face six fixtures in the space of 19 days. Possibly the biggest worry comes in defence following news that William Saliba had been replaced in the France squad.

The defender limped off in the Gunners' Europa League exit against Sporting CP last week after sustaining a back injury. He missed the win over Palace on Sunday before the France Football Federation confirmed his withdrawal from Didier Deschamps' squad.

Saliba is expected to undergo further scans to determine the severity of the injury throughout the international break ahead of a busy April. "We hope Willy [Saliba] is going to be better news," Arteta said on Sunday. "Again, we have to wait tomorrow to get a better picture."

Another member of the Gunners' defence who is facing a period out is Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japan international - like Saliba - was forced off in the defeat to Sporting after over-extending in a challenge and was later seen leaving the Emirates Stadium on crutches.

"We don't know [how bad Tomiaysu's injury is]," Arteta said. "The doctor is assessing. We have one assessment and I think they need to have another assessment tomorrow. It's not looking good.

"Tomi is not one to exaggerate things. He was really concerned straight away and we are concerned."

Saliba and Tomiyasu join Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny in the medical room at London Colney. The Hale Ender forward has been missing since the 4-0 win over Everton at the start of the month.

Despite initial hope he may return to the squad before the international break, the 23-year-old has continued to be absent from Arteta's squad. "It's getting better. He's still in the [protective] boot," the Gunners boss told the media.

"He's still a few weeks away and we need to be patient. It was a nasty injury and he has a big challenge ahead of him. Thank God it's not as bad as it could have been."

Elneny is another absence for the Gunners. The Egyptian has been out since January after a club statement confirmed he would be out for an extended period of time.
