Mock drafts are fun and they continue to send the Minnesota Vikings some interesting players. The latest from Luke Easterling and Draft Wire has the Vikings going cornerback and this time it’s Illinois’ Devon Witherspoon.
While he likely will be drafted earlier with all the buzz throughout the industry, Witherspoon is a great player that is currently my CB3. Here is what Easterling had to say about the Fighting Illini corner.
“Another receiver to pair with Justin Jefferson shouldn’t be out of the question, but this defense needs help in the worst way, particularly when it comes to stopping the pass. Witherspoon has been one of the most dominant cover men in the country this season.”
It really feels like it’s going to be a cornerback or wide receiver at the top of the NFL draft for the Vikings. Both are premium positions and fill a major need long-term for the Vikings.
