A late Jake McGing match-winning goal has lifted Macarthur FC back into the A-League Men top six as they snatched a battling 2-1 home victory over an unlucky Brisbane Roar.
McGing pounced on the loose ball and fired home from close range in the 89th minute for his first ALM goal in more than four years.
The victory at Campbelltown Stadium lifted Macarthur above Sydney FC into sixth.
Brisbane had twice as many shots as the Bulls on Friday night and their corner count climbed into double figures, but they couldn't capitalise on their huge possession advantage.
Macarthur didn't have a shot until the 43rd minute when their Mexican skipper Ulises Davila controlled a pass from Jake Hollman and lashed the ball into the net.
The Roar got a deserved equaliser in the 78th minute when Macarthur couldn't clear a corner and Scott Neville smashed the ball home for his first ALM goal in more than two years.
Just before the late strike from McGing, Brisbane's livewire substitute Eli Adams had a shot saved by Filip Kurto.
Davilas' goal was easily the highlight of a tepid first half for the hosts.
Macarthur looked toothless going forward and Brisbane had almost 60 per cent of possession in the first 45 minutes, but struggled to create good opportunities.
Alex Parsons came closest in the fourth minute when his close-range shot was blocked by the legs of Kurto.
Macarthur showed more enterprise in the second half, with Hollman forcing a good save from Jordan Holmes.
Adams added some sparkle and menace for the Roar after he was introduced on the hour.
Within four minutes he cut in from the left and hit the woodwork with a terrific shot, while Henry Hore had shot saved soon after as the Roar pressed forward.
The defeat left Brisbane second bottom.
