Late night PSNI patrols in north Belfast target burglars

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) carried out high visibility anti-burglary patrols in Belfast during the early hours of this morning, Thursday February 3.

Neighbourhood officers from Tennent Street were out in the small hours patrolling the Lyndhurst and Westway areas.

Police North Belfast said on Twitter at 1am on Thursday morning: “Tennent Street neighbourhood officers have conducted high visibility anti-burglary patrols this morning in the Lyndhurst and Westway areas.

“Please remember to always lock your windows and doors #KeepingPeopleSafe.”

Crimestoppers recommends protecting your home from burglars by installing and maintaining an alarm, switching lights or a radio on when you go out, checking all doors and windows are properly locked and ensuring side and back gates are secured.

Asking a neighbour to watch your property when you go holiday, not leaving Christmas gift packaging on display outside your house and avoiding distraction burglary tactics are also advised.
