Late Late Show line-up might be the best this year with a major music star, a top RTE reporter, and two incredible Marys

The line-up for this week's RTE Late Late Show has been announced with famous faces like Dolly Parton, Mary McAleese and Mary Robinson.

The two former Irish presidents will join Ryan to speak about the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Ryan will also be joined by RTE Europe Editor Tony Connelly who has seen first hand how a vibrant city can overnight turn into one where terror, confusion and panic reign.

Tony will speak to Ryan about scenes he saw first hand on the streets of Kyiv while broadcasting from a bunker where parents and children sought refuge.

American country music legend Dolly Parton is among the star-studded line-up for this week's Late Late Show. She will be joined by author James Patterson as the pair speak to Ryan from Nashville about their new novel Run Rose Run and why they’re both extremely passionate about encouraging children to read from a young age.

Dolly appeared on The Late Late Show in early 2021 and delighted audiences with her interview as she revealed her special connection to the people of Ireland.

She told Ryan via video call: "They [Irish people] appreciate and know what it is like to live hard and to be brought up poor and I think that they know when I am singing it, I mean it and I believe that they know that I feel that emotion that I have that is just built in my, I call it my Smokey Mountain DNA, but is from those old songs brought over from Ireland and England."

Plus, there will be music from Dublin pop artist Aimée who will perform her newest single Nobody Else.
