Jordie Barrett's controversial late try secured a vital victory for the All Blacks against Australia.
Leading 37-34 with time almost up, the Wallabies were awarded a penalty underneath their own posts. As Bernard Foley prepared to kick for touch, he was warned by referee Matthieu Raynal to not waste anytime.
Raynal quickly concluded that Foley was trying to waste time, and swiftly awarded a free-kick to New Zealand. From the ensuing scrum, the All Blacks made the breakthrough with Jordie Barrett touching down in the 82nd minute.

The law states that a “penalty or free-kick must be taken without delay” but it is very rare to see the rule enforced at any stage let alone at such a pivotal point of the game.
It seemed an extremely harsh call at the time, given that only six seconds had elapsed between the time coming back on and Raynal awarding the free-kick.
Australia fought back from of 10-0 down and 31-13 down only for Barrett's last minute try to break their hearts.
