Last time Taylor Swift came to UK and Ireland with 'triumph' performance

Taylor Swift is coming to the UK and Ireland for the first time in six years with her Eras Tour.

Fans have faced a turbulent few days while waiting to discover whether they would be receiving a presale code for shows or be placed on the waiting list. Demand has been so high that 14 extra dates have been added, including another performance at Anfield.

This is unsurprising given it has been some time since she last performed in the UK and Ireland. Her last time here was part of the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018, which attracted hundreds of thousands of fans.

This coincided with the release of her sixth studio album of the same name. Taylor held four packed out shows in Britain, as well as two in Ireland.

She took to the stage at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on June 8 and 9. Later in the month on June 22 and 23, she performed at Wembley in London.

The support acts, Charli XCX and Camila Cabello, were just as impressive. In between these, she flew over to Dublin for two concerts at Croke Park on June 15 and 16.

Fans in Manchester were blown away by a 50ft snake hissing above the stage. In a review of the Manchester tour, The Guardian said: “As stadium-sized pop shows go, it’s something of a triumph.” The MEN added: “What a show. What a popstar.”

Taylor also paid a touching tribute to those affected by the Manchester Arena tragedy the year previously. She said: “You have shown such strength. You’ve shown that you will never let anyone forget about those victims.

“And you’ve shown that you have such incredible resilience to keep dancing, and to keep the innocence and to keep the joy and to keep the excitement. And I have to say Manchester, it is such an honour to play for you guys.”

Taylor also came to the UK and Ireland for her 1989, Red and Speak Now world tours.
