An injury-time goal cost Livingston a place in the top six as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw away to Ross County in snowy conditions last night.
The Lions had opened the scoring early in the second half when Scott Pittman teed up Alan Forrest, with the winger charging at the Staggies defence before firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
They had the opportunity to put the game to bed four minutes from time but defender Ayo Obileye blasted his spot-kick over the bar after James Penrice had been bundled over inside the box.
And that would prove a crucial miss as deep into injury-time, Livi keeper Max Stryjek missed his attempted punch of a Blair Spittal cross with Kayne Ramsay jumping the highest to nod into the empty net.
Remarkably all three league games between the sides have now been decided in the final minute with Livi earning a late win last time in Dingwall and a draw in West Lothian just before the winter break.
The Lions now turn their attention to the Scottish Cup as they travel to Edinburgh to take on Hearts on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off). Victory for Livi would see them book their first quarter-final berth since 2005.
