Last few days to enter 2023 LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards

There are just a few days left for businesses to apply for the 2023 LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards.

The deadline for entries is January 8, with categories in the creative sectors, education, food and drink, med-tech & life sciences, space and sustainability, among others.

This year will be the fifth for the awards, which have continued to grow, and which this year take place at the National Space Centre, in Leicester, on February 16. You can apply here.

The 2023 awards will also be part of the fifth annual Leicestershire Innovation Festival which is taking place next month.

Entries are open to individuals and companies based in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and previous winners have used them to raise their profiles on the national and international stages and attract new talent.

The 2023 headline sponsors are De Montfort University, Morningside Pharmaceuticals in Loughborough and the University of Leicester. Category sponsors are Acute Business Advisory, Intelligent Energy, Loughborough University and the MIRA Technology Institute.

A spokesperson from Loughborough-based medicines manufacturer Morningside Pharmaceuticals said: “We’re delighted to be supporting this year’s Innovation Awards, because our business has grown significantly over the past three decades through investment in innovation, continuous improvement and research & development.

“Innovation embodies the improvement of something that has come before, and it’s the companies that do this best, which are the ones that will ultimately have sustained success.

"We would like to encourage anyone connected with an individual or business, which are using innovation to fill a gap in the market, or to take market share, to nominate them for this year’s awards. The best of luck to all nominees.”

Reach PLC events manager Paige Jackson, who is organising the awards, urged businesses to enter.

She said: “The awards will celebrate the very best technology, services, digital advances, and creative thinking that the region has to offer and will bring to a close the Innovation Festival 2023.

“Previous winners have used the awards to raise their profile, attract new employees, and have gone on to develop national and international success.”
