There are several different classes that you can choose from in Last Epoch. Each of these have their own strengths, weaknesses, and playstyles.

Knowing which of these best suits your preferences is a crucial factor in making sure that you can have a fun gaming experience. Some of the classes in the game are more beginner-friendly, while others are more catered toward hardcore players.

This guide aims to help you figure out which class is good for you, depending on your abilities and what playstyle you prefer to use. Keep these in mind when choosing which base and master class you choose in Last Epoch.

Base Classes

Last Epoch features five base classes that each have their own advantages and disadvantages; Acolyte, Mage, Primalist, Rogue, and Sentinel. They all branch out into three more distinct master classes that further focus on a particular playstyle.

Beginners will most likely want to choose from three particular classes: Mage, Rogue, and Sentinel. The Mage is a classic magic user that has high damage potential but is rather frail and is easily picked off if the player is not careful, according to Game Spot.

The main benefit of this class is being able to deal insane amounts of damage that can incinerate hordes of enemies before they can get close. The second beginner-friendly class is the Rogue.

This particular class specializes in both melee and ranged combat and has a knack for stealth.

Having the option to attack enemies from a distance gives you a safer way of dealing damage. But even if you do get up close and personal, you have a variety of skills to evade and dodge enemies.

The last is Sentinel, which is a very flexible class in Last Epoch that has a lot of health, giving you more breathing room during combat. The master classes also offer you a variety of added tools, such as spell-casting and ranged combat.

Powerful Early Game Class and Build

The Minion Necromancer, which comes from the Acolyte base class, is a very strong early-game build and is relatively simple to learn, even for beginners. This particular build mixes high damage potential and high survivability together, Sportskeeda said.

Your survivability mainly comes from your army of minions that will move ahead of you and take on your enemies in combat. The only complexity of this build is managing your units as it can be a hassle trying to recover them if they stomped on.

Other Tips

If you prefer to use a classic elemental-based magic user, then Last Epoch's Mage base class is a perfect choice for you. This class relies less on gear for survivability and instead makes use of its vast array of spells.

Those who choose Primalist can become one with nature and turn the forest's creatures against their enemies. This class is also one of the more flexible classes in Last Epoch, as it comes with transformations, spells, summons, and totems, according to IGN.

Taking all of these into consideration, you should look into what skills each class has access to and see which of them cater to your preferred playstyle. Last Epoch offers a very diverse skill system that lets you customize your character.
