Last EMR train warning for fans making their way back to Nottingham as queues form at station

Nottingham Forest fans making their way back from the capital have been sent a message by East Midlands Railway about their journey home. There are huge queues at St Pancras station as people wait to board trains home.

A spokesperson for the company detailed the last train back to Nottingham and outlined an expectation that it would be busy. The spokesperson said: "Please be aware that our last train from St Pancras towards Nottingham this evening is at 22:32.

"We are expecting large numbers of passengers so please make sure to allow a lot of extra time to get to this train. We have a queuing system in place at St Pancras and expect delays."

Fans heading to the final experienced queues at Nottingham station and packed trains. East Midlands Railway encouraged supporters to head to other stations in the region to better their chances of getting to London.

Train tickets purchased for East Midlands Railway had been allowed to be used on other companies, different times and from other stations earlier on in the day due to issues leaving Nottingham. EMR issue delay repays to anyone who has been delayed by 15 minutes or more. To claim a delay repay, fans need to show proof of a valid ticket.

Nottingham Forest fans took to the streets to celebrate after the Reds were promoted to the Premier League after a 1-0 victory over Huddersfield at Wembley. There were some nervy moments in the second half and two penalty claims waved away for the Terriers before six minutes of added time, as Forest hung on for their momentous victory.

It was an unlikely end to a season that started with Forest bottom of the Championship after seven games with one point. A Levi Colwill own goal proved the difference in the play-off decider to fire Forest to promotion.
