Since opening about 10 months ago, Sphere Entertainment's (SPHR) Sphere Las Vegas has become the premier entertainment venue on the Strip.
Several Las Vegas Strip hotel casino theaters host superstar entertainers, such as MGM Resort's International's (MGM) Dolbv Live at the Park MGM, Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) Colosseum at Caesars Palace, or Wynn Resorts' (WYNN) Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas.

The Eagles and the Sphere on June 13 unveiled the original eight shows of the residency for September and October and then on June 18 added four more shows in November. The band on June 26 added another four shows in December. The Sphere shows are the only shows The Eagles have scheduled through the end of the year.
The band claims that it retired from touring with the final show of its "Long Goodbye" tour that concluded June 15 in the Netherlands. Fans can speculate whether The Eagles truly have retired from touring, since the band embarked on its "Farewell 1 Tour" in 2003, but continued touring for another 21 years.
Residencies and extended engagements might make more sense for future performances by The Eagles as they would eliminate the expense and exhaustion of concert tours. Bands can save a lot of money by eliminating the cost of setting up a stage in every city on the road and instead setting up one stage in a city for multiple performances in a residency or extended engagement.
Fans can still hold out hope for another tour as The Eagles late founding member Glenn Frey, who died in 2016, once hinted at a 2005 concert in Sacramento that the band may never retire from touring as he proclaimed, "If you're payin', we're playin'." The band kept touring after Frey passed, until proclaiming the "Long Goodbye" tour as its final one.
The current lineup of The Eagles includes Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, country and bluegrass star Vince Gill and band founder Glenn Frey's son Deacon Frey.
