The Strip has also been known to book multiple headliners together on the same stage for shows.
One legendary residency packed the house when Frank Sinatra brought the Rat Pack to the Strip in early 1960 at the Sands Hotel and Casino, during the filming of the motion picture "Ocean's 11," featuring Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
No residency has ever matched such a megastar lineup since the Rat Pack shows, but some have tried.
The Strip's first big hip-hop residency took the stage in July 2024 when classic New York hip-hop stars Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh joined DJ Cassidy for his "Pass the Mic Live" residency for six shows at Planet Hollywood.
Music and comedy residencies scheduled on the Strip
The Strip has also hosted popular singing duos as well, including Sonny & Cher, who performed a residency in July and August 1973 and recorded a live album from the shows.
1970s variety show stars Donny and Marie had a popular 11-year residency on the Strip at the Flamingo Las Vegas that ran for 1,730 shows from 2008 to 2019.
Donny Osmond in August 2021 opened his solo residency at Harrah's Showroom, which is currently booked into 2025.
Aside from music residencies, you can also find stand-up comics who have teamed to perform shows on the Strip. Comedians David Spade and Nikki Glaser have combined their shows into one residency that runs in March, May, and September 2025 at the Venetian Theater at the Venetian Resort.
Toni Braxton, Cedric the Entertainer return to the Strip
Finally, the smash-hit Las Vegas Strip entertainment duo of superstar singer Toni Braxton and popular comedian Cedric the Entertainer return to MGM Resorts International's (MGM) The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for the third run of their "Love & Laughter" residency with six more shows in 2025.

Braxton and Cedric have scheduled shows for Feb. 14, 15, May 9, 10, July 11, and 12, 2025 at The Chelsea. Tickets for the six shows go on sale to the general public on Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. Pacific time at Ticketmaster.com.

The "Unbreak My Heart" singer and the comedian, who stars on CBS television's "The Neighborhood," opened the residency with seven shows starting April 27, 2024, followed by two shows in May, June, and July. A Braxton YouTube post claimed that those residency shows sold out.
The duo extended the residency to Aug. 9-10, Oct. 18-19, and Dec. 20-21, but the promoter canceled the two December shows due to low ticket sales.
The promoter must believe ticket demand to see these two classic entertainers still exists. The "Love & Laughter" residency offers a co-headlining show featuring Braxton's music, Cedric's jokes, and both entertainers' storytelling on stage at the same time.
