Las Vegas Strip casino signs music superstar to longer residency

As summer winds down on the Las Vegas Strip, several hotel casino theaters have been closing long-running headliner residencies.

Lady Gaga got the ball rolling this summer, ending her "Jazz & Piano" residency at MGM Resorts International's  (MGM)  Park MGM Dolby Live Theater on July 6. The superstar singer first introduced the "Jazz & Piano" version of her residency on Aug. 31, 2013 with 12 shows that ended Oct. 5, 2023.

Lady Gaga enjoyed her Las Vegas Strip residency so much that she told the audience at her Sept. 7, 2023, performance that she wanted her Dolby Live residency to last "forever." She did bring the residency back for eight more shows on June 19, 2024, but the show closed in July with no further shows added.

Legendary jam band Dead & Company arrived at Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR)  Sphere on the Las Vegas Strip on May 16 for what would be a 30-show residency, performing three shows on 10 weekends on its "Dead Forever Live at Sphere Las Vegas" engagement. The band closed its residency on Aug. 10.

Popular singer Christina Aguilera launched her Las Vegas Strip residency at Voltaire in Apollo Global Management's  (APO)  the Venetian Resort Las Vegas on New Year's Eve weekend Dec. 30-31, 2023, to sellout crowds and recently closed her engagement on Aug. 31.

Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers landed their first-ever residency on the Strip at the 4,300-seat Colosseum at Caesars Palace, a 10-show engagement which began Aug. 14 and just ended Sept. 1.

Twain has added new shows by popular demand on Jan. 22, 24, 25, 29, 31, Feb. 1, 5, 7 and 8, with a Citi Cardmember presale beginning Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. Pacific time at Ticketmaster and Artist presale Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. Pacific. Live Nation, Ticketmaster and Partner presales begin Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific.

A limited number of tickets remain for Twain's 11 previously scheduled residency shows on Sept. 4, 6, 7, Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14, which are also currently on sale at Ticketmaster.

Twain returned to the Strip at Planet Hollywood's Bakkt Theater for a 24-show residency in 2024 beginning May 10 that was set to end Dec. 14. The theater's name was changed to PH Live earlier this year after the Bakkt contract expired, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The residency commemorates the 25th anniversary of Twain's blockbuster album "Come On Over," which featured huge hits "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," "From This Moment On," "You're Still The One," and "That Don't Impress Me Much."

Twain has performed two long-running residencies on the Strip, her "Still the One" engagement at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2012-2014 and "Let's Go" at the Zappos Theater, before it was renamed Bakkt Theater, at Caesars Entertainment's Planet Hollywood Las Vegas in 2019-2022.
