Las Vegas Strip music residencies have featured several long running engagements with stars performing hundreds of shows.
The King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley set the standard as he performed 636 consecutive sold-out shows at the International Hotel off the Strip from 1969 to 1976, in month-long periods of two shows per night, according to an Elvis Presley estate social media post.

It was common back in the day for headliners to perform two shows a night, often a dinner show and then a cocktail show or maybe just two cocktail shows.
1970s Superstar singer Barry Manilow began performing at the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas, formerly the International Hotel and Las Vegas Hilton, in February 2005 and broke Elvis' record in September 2023.
It took Manilow over 18 years to break the record, likely performing one show a night, while Elvis set the record in less than eight years.
Manilow, however, doesn't seem to want to stop performing in Vegas, as he is scheduled to perform 69 more shows between Sept. 12, 2024 and Dec. 13, 2025.

Another huge residency was Celine Dion's spectacular "A New Day" residency that occupied The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2003 to 2007 for 717 shows and generated $385 million in ticket sales revenue. She performed another 427 shows in a second residency, "Celine," from 2011 to 2019 at the Colosseum.
Dion is reportedly finalizing a deal for a new residency at Resorts World Las Vegas that's planned for late 2024 or early 2025.

Legendary rock star Rod Stewart opened his "Hits" residency at Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2011, presenting an arena-sized concert in an intimate experience with no seat more than 145 feet from the stage. He performed his classic hits in each show, including "Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night," "Infatuation," "You Wear It Well," "The First Cut is the Deepest," and "Every Picture Tells a Story."
After 200 shows in 13 years, Stewart on Aug. 7 performs his final concert on the residency and then shuts it down permanently.
Like so many other Las Vegas Strip headliners, Stewart enjoyed his long-running "Hits" residency immensely. He liked it so much that he is returning for another new residency and sooner than anyone expected.
