Las Vegas Strip casino signs legendary headliner for residency

When Las Vegas Strip visitors imagine headliner residencies, they often consider buying tickets for shows for superstar singers and bands, such as Adele, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, or maybe older, classic Vegas acts like Barry Manilow, Donny Osmond or Wayne Newton.

The latest sensation on the Strip, Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR)  Sphere, has drawn huge crowds since superstar rock band U2 opened the venue on Sept. 29, 2023 and performed 40 virtually sold-out shows before closing its residency on March 2.

Since the, the Sphere has hosted popular jam band Phish for four sold-out shows and ultimate jam band Dead & Company for a 30-show residency, also virtually sold out.

Next up for the Sphere is legendary rock band The Eagles for a residency that has scheduled 20 shows from Sept. 20, 2024, through Jan. 25, 2025, which are bound to be sold out.

For country fans, several star singers have residencies book on the strip. Carrie Underwood performs her "Reflection" residency for 15 more shows spread out in August, October, March and April.

Other country stars with current or future scheduled residencies include Garth Brooks at the Caesars Entertainment's  (CZR)  Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Shania Twain at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood, Keith Urban at Fontainebleau or Brad Paisley at Wynn Resorts'  (WYNN)  Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.

Another traditional Vegas entertainment choice is burlesque shows that still draw audience interest, such as "X Burlesque" at Bugsy's Cabaret Showroom at the Flamingo or "Fantasy" at the Atrium Showroom at the Luxor.

Burlesque star returns to Las Vegas Strip for residency

Returning to the Strip after performing her "A Jubilant Revue" at Horseshoe last fall is International Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese, who brings her glamourous and sensational performances to the Strip at Voltaire in the Venetian Resort Las Vegas. The residency is set for 44 shows over 11 weekends beginning Sept. 19 and set to conclude Dec. 22, 2024.

“Dita Von Teese dazzles audiences around the world and is bringing something iconic and special to Voltaire,” Voltaire founder Michael Gruber said in an Aug. 13 statement. “Upon entering Voltaire, guests are transported to another era through the venue’s art deco design and cabaret setup, making it the perfect venue for Dita, her sparkling costumes, and effervescent charm.”

Tickets for the all-new revue may be purchased at voltairelv.com.

Dita Von Teese, who was born Heather Renee Sweet in Rochester, Minn., in 1992 changed her name and began performing her own style of strip tease.

The burlesque star, who, as a teen, was a fan of burlesque icon Gypsy Rose Lee, has twice appeared on Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List and was named Burlesque Superheroine by the magazine.

Dita Von Teese performed shows for Louis Vuitton, Chopard, Cartier and at the Cannes Film Festival. She also was a premier guest star in Jean Paul Gaultier's "Fashion Freak Show" at the Folies Bergère in Paris in 2019.

The star performer has presented four full-length burlesque revue tours, "Strip, Strip, Hooray!" in 2013-2016, "The Art of the Teese" in 2017, "Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe" in 2018, and "Glamonatrix" in 2019 and 2022-2023.
