Las Vegas Strip casino closes popular rock star’s residency

Las Vegas Strip guests look forward to seeing some of the most popular performers in the music business whenever they pay Sin City a visit.

The Strip features long-running, classic Vegas headliners who plan to continue their residencies many months or years into the future, including Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton's "Up Close and Personal" residency at Bugsy's Cabaret at the Flamingo, which runs until a Dec. 30 show that's sold out.

Tickets are still available for other nights in October, November, and December, though don't be surprised if Newton extends his residency into 2025.

By far, the most popular and expensive residency experience is The Eagles' residency at Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR)  Sphere Las Vegas, which began Sept. 20, and has grown to 28 weekend shows that currently conclude March 15.

Another big residency show coming to the Strip includes legendary hard rock band Scorpions, who return to Vegas in 2025 for its "Coming Home to Las Vegas 60th Anniversary" residency at Caesars Entertainment's PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, beginning Feb. 27 and continuing March 1, 6, 8 and 11, 2025.

More Las Vegas Strip:

But if easy-listening pop is your preference, 1980s soft rock duo Air Supply brings their hit songs like "All Out of Love" and "Even the Nights Are Better" back to the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas off the Strip for a short residency on May 23-24 and Oct. 3-4, 2025, to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary.

Lenny Kravitz's Las Vegas residency ends

Visitors will get one last chance to see superstar rocker Lenny Kravitz for a while as he closes his first-ever Las Vegas Strip residency on Oct. 26 with his final of five performances at MGM Resorts International's  (MGM)  Dolby Live at Park MGM.

Kravitz has not indicated any plans to extend or return for more Las Vegas Strip residency shows anytime soon, as he heads back East for shows at Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Oct. 30, two shows Nov. 1-2 at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., and a show in Mexico City in December.

The "Are You Gonna Go My Way" singer will take a short break before embarking on a 17-show European tour from Feb. 22- April 14.

Kravitz's residency and tour celebrate his 12th studio album "Blue Electric Light," which was released May 24. The Grammy Award winner's 11 previous albums have sold over 40 million copies.
