The Las Vegas Strip hotel casinos have long been known for hosting star headliners in their theaters. In some cases, the names of the Vegas hotels or the theaters that hosted huge stars have changed over the years.
Legendary King of Rock Elvis Presley famously opened his long-running residency at the International Hotel in 1969 and continued performing to set a record of 636 sold-out performances over a seven-year period. When he finished, the hotel's name had been changed to the Las Vegas Hilton. "Copacabana" singer Barry Manilow on the weekend of Sept. 23 broke the Elvis sellout record in the International Theater, whose hotel name had since been changed to Westgate Las Vegas.
