Largescale police presence in Lanarkshire town as eight police vehicles line street

A largescale police presence was seen in The Murray area of East Kilbride last night, with a woman appearing to be apprehended by officers.

Information about the incident is scarce, but some eye-witness accounts circulated social media on Tuesday night.

That included pictures of a woman being led away by a male and female officer into a marked car.

One picture shows seven police cars and one police van lined up along the street, with one Lanarkshire Live source telling us it was “a nice area”.

Police Scotland have been approached for a comment.
