A large amount of cannabis was seized at Dublin Airport on Wednesday with the assistance of detector dog Enzo.
The cannabis weighed 8.9kg and has an estimated street value of €178,000. The illegal drugs were discovered during routine operations and were concealed in parcels described as ‘Vehicle Accessories and Kitchen Accessories’.
The parcels had arrived in air cargo consignments from the United States and were destined for addresses in Dublin. A Revenue spokeswoman said that investigations into the seizure are ongoing.

"This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs," she said. "If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on our confidential phone number 1800 295 295."
