After a prolonged search for a new designer, Lanvin has finally selected Peter Copping as its new artistic director. The British designer, who gained extensive experience at other luxury houses like Oscar de la Renta and Nina Ricci, will be starting the role in September overseeing both womenswear and menswear. He is also expected to produce the brand's Pre-Fall 2025 collection.

Through Copping, Lanvin will achieve the "singular perspective and technical expertise of a modern couturier" the brand is looking for as it embarks on a much-needed renaissance. The announcement comes five years after Bruno Sialelli parted ways with the brand, which prompted the reconstructing of its creative organization, which even included tapping rapper Future for a collaboration. Ultimately, Copping will be a part of Lanvin's brand identity that reflects "contemporary culture by a sensibility of radical chic and French sophistication."

"I am confident that with Peter's vision and technical rigor and the continued perseverance of our teams globally, we will identify a new frontier in fashion and deliver beauty and results in equal measure," says Siddhartha Shukla, the company's deputy chief executive officer. Eric Chan, Lanvin Group's CEO, has the same mindset stating that "Peter's outstanding talent and capacity to reinterpret the codes of the maison with curiosity and innovation make him the ideal candidate to drive success for Lanvin."

Copping also expressed great honor in being selected for the role and being put in the position to write the house's next chapter. "Jeanne Lanvin was a visionary of her time whose interests and passions extended far beyond fashion, as do my own."
