Dumfriesshire youngsters enjoyed a unique footballing experience at the weekend.
Thirty players from Langholm Girls FC and Langholm Legion Juniors were given a capital city day to remember at the Hearts match against Rangers at Tynecastle.
The youngsters were given a morning coaching session on the community pitch behind the Wheatfield Stand with Hearts coaches.
And after lunch they were seated in the stand to watch the Hearts team warm before the match.
As kick-off approached, the children lined the pitch as flag bearers as the teams came out the tunnel.
The youngsters, in their Langholm club colours, were brought onto the pitch at half-time in front of a capacity
crowd.
Club officials and some of the players were interviewed before the children did a short lap of honour and left the pitch for the second half.
To top off a great day, many of the children were lucky enough to meet the Hearts players after the game.
The trip, organised by Calum Graham, follows on from a visit to the Muckle Toon by the Hearts Community and Football Development Team in the summer.
Calum said: “Inspiration is so important and is an essential ingredient for achieving in any field and I think it’s safe to say our young players were completely inspired.
“The girls have only been training for less than a year and we now have teams at U10, two teams at U12 and an U14 team and these experiences just inspires and motivates them to continue in the game.
“A huge thank you to the Heart of Midlothian Community Coaching and Football Development Team and the club for providing this experience, their coaches who have been fantastic and all the parent helpers who were helping on the day.”
