Congestion is expected on a main road through Manchester city centre through rush hour this morning due to a lane closure. One lane has been shut off on the Mancunian Way eastbound carriageway.
It is closed near the London Road exit slip way due to a carriageway defect, according to Transport for Greater Manchester. Work is being carried out at the scene. The lane closure will be in place through the rush hour.

Drivers are being urged to approach the incident with caution. In a tweet, TfGM said: "Mancunian Way - 1 lane closed Eastbound at the London Road exit slip. This is due to a carriageway defect. Approach with caution.
"Works are underway to repair the defect and the closure will be in place throughout the peak. #TfGMTraffic for further updates."
