The owner of a pub has hit back at a disgruntled reviewer who claimed that they had been served the "worst carvery".
The Fox Inn is considered a highly rated restaurant, boasting a four-star rating on TripAdvisor.
However, one diner who visited the Lower Chaddesley boozer in February left a 'terrible' one-star review, which prompted the landlord of The Fox Inn to respond. The anonymous reviewer said that it was the worst carvery he had ever had - with the beef being "tough and very fatty".
However the owner of The Fox Inn replied, and he said the review was 'suspicious', Birmingham Live writes.
The less-than-impressed reviewer went as far to say he "would not have given it (the meal) to my dog" - and that he would not be returning. Their review was titled "Warning!!! The worst carvery I have ever had!!!"
It said: "This was possibly the worst carvery I have ever had. The beef was inedible it was tough and very fatty I ended up not eating it.
"I am surprised the man had the front to serve it to me I would not of given it to my dog! So I ended up having a lovely meal of cold vegetables and under cooked roast potatoes.
"You get what you pay for I guess. I shall not be returning."
But Ben Giles, the owner of The Fox Inn, decided to respond to the review. In the response he said the review seemed "suspicious" and added that he was "glad you won't be coming back".
Mr Giles response said: "Thank you for taking your time to dream and write this delightful review up, I’m so glad you won’t be coming back, that’s probably the most viable comment you have made. Our beef is certified Aberdeen Angus from Millers of Speyside so what your are saying is a bulls**t.
"We do around 1,800 meals a week and all our regular honest customers love it. My only thought is that this review seems a bit (warning!!!!) suspicious but to give you the benefit of the doubt I wish you all the best in your future dining experiences."
The Fox Inn regularly receives rave reviews on Tripadvisor from customers. Including one diner who visited in January saying it was "fantastic every time".
They said: "I have eaten here many times with friends family and as a couple and have always had fantastic service and food. Lots of choice.
"Always clean and attentive staff."
Another added: "The pub was clean and welcoming. Staff were well presented and friendly, as well as very helpful.
"Food was outstanding, best carvery I have ever visited. Will be returning."
While Isabelle said after her visit in February: "Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing value for money. Couldn’t recommend more cant wait to come back!!!
"By far the best pub we have been to in the Kidderminster area."
