A Wishaw woman reported her ex-boyfriend to the police – but ended up being arrested herself.
Chelsea Penman flew into a rage when officers turned up and she spat in one cop's face.
Penman, 21, of Greenfield Drive, Cambusnethan, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
She admitted charges of assault and threatening or abusive behaviour.
Alice Carey, prosecuting, said police responded to a report of a disturbance in Curlinghaugh Cresent, Wishaw, around midnight on January 28.
Penman "became hostile" and warned officers they wouldn't get into the house without a warrant.
The fiscal added: "She became extremely aggressive and was shouting and swearing.
"She was asked to stop but failed to. She was arrested and spat directly in one officer's face and was then taken to the ground."
Defence agent Alan Murray said Penman's ex-boyfriend had breached bail conditions by attending at the address earlier.
The lawyer stated: "She called the police but by the time they arrived he had gone.
"She had been drinking and her recollection of events is very hazy.
"It would appear that police officers laid hands on her and her t-shirt was ripped off, leaving her standing in her bra."
Penman has no previous convictions and sentence was deferred until next month for a criminal justice social work report.
Sheriff Thomas Millar told her: "Hopefully you will be given help to ensure you won't be back in court."
