A group of kind-hearted volunteers are trying to do their part in helping with the ongoing Ukraine refugees that are currently fleeing from Putin's attacks on the country.
Claire Anderson, from Viewpark, begun collecting donations after seeing a friend doing it on Facebook.
She is one of many who is currently trying to help Ukraine in anyway she can, which is making up baby boxes for mothers and new babies that are fleeing the country.
During the first few days of the war, around 199 babies have been born in Ukraine.
She told Lanarkshire Live : “I saw on Facebook that one of my friends was taking a drop of donations for baby boxes and I’ve done a lot of charity work so I messaged the lady that had set it all up, Jackie Crawford, and I posted about it on Facebook and it went a bit crazy.
“We needed 250 boxes for a shipment on Saturday.
“From Thursday, we had 48 filled baby boxes and then another 105 brown boxes, which are toiletries and other items.
“Some of the boxes have a mattress and a sheet. If you’re in Poland or Moldova, it means you’ve got a bed for your baby, a comforter, nappy cream, breast pads, and things like sanitary products.
“We stored them because the baby boxes are quite big and we moved them to the Forge warehouse to store them.
“Three vans came to help, they do it all for free, and hopefully will do the same this weekend. We needed three vans and two cars just to get all the stuff there.
“I’ll probably take another 40 boxes over on Sunday and right now we probably have more than 1000 baby boxes.
“We’ve all been very busy, but it’s amazing. Scotland isn’t the wealthiest place and people are struggling as well, but everyone wants to help. I’ll help as long as it takes.
“I would like to hope that if I needed help then someone would help me.”
Claire, from Uddingston added: “There are a few different drop-off points for people wanting to donate stuff, mine is Viewpark.”
“People have been asking about other items like socks and PJs as well as they want to help.”
