Lanarkshire woman attacked two females over claims of 'grassing,' leaving one victim needing stitches

A Lanarkshire woman attacked two other females during an early morning disturbance over claims of "grassing".

One victim needed stitches in a cut to her face, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard this week.

Chloe Lochrie, 23, of Morven Avenue, Blantyre, admitted assaulting the pair on various streets in the town in September 2019.

Courtney Connal, 24, of Stewart Avenue, Blantyre, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour towards the victims.

Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said there was a disagreement between the women over "rumours".

She told the court that Connal and Lochrie attended at one of the victim's homes at 5am.

The Fiscal added: "Connal was outside, shouting 'You're a grass. If you phone the police, that's nothing compared to what we will do to you. Your mum is getting it. You don't know the people we know'."

The occupants left the house to speak to the pair, but Lochrie then attacked one of the women, punching her repeatedly and knocking her to the ground.

She also bit her on the face and kicked her repeatedly.

Lochrie also punched the other victim.

One woman suffered a 2.5cm cut to her left eyebrow that required five stitches. There were teeth marks on her cheek.

The second victim had a cut to her eyelid.

The court heard Connal is due to give birth later this month and Sheriff John Speir deferred sentence on her until February for good behaviour.

Lochrie's case was adjourned until September 30 for background reports.
